Mahmee is the only comprehensive maternity care management platform that helps integrated health systems create new revenue channels, reduce readmissions, and increase positive health outcomes for moms and babies. In the U.S., 80% of maternal and infant healthcare practitioners are private, independent professionals. The burden of navigating the healthcare system falls on millions of new parents across the U.S. because it is nearly impossible for a large, risk-bearing health systems to effectively manage the care of moms and babies when the industry is so fragmented and privatized. Mahmee links large health systems, independent practitioners, and patients all in one platform so that 1) preventable medical expenses and readmissions are avoided, 2) health systems can drive new maternity-related product and service revenues back into their networks, and 3) patients are highly satisfied and engaged in their care experiences because we are supporting them along the journey. Mahmee has been shown to reduce neonatal jaundice NICU readmissions by 60%, increase breastfeeding rates by 200% above of the national average, and drive over $1MM in new revenues for our health systems customers. Mahmee was founded by Melissa Hanna, JD/MBA, and inspired by the work of Melissa’s own mother, Linda M. Hanna, RNC, MSN/ed., IBCLC, who designed and launched both the Great Starts outpatient breastfeeding center at Kaiser Permanente and the Lactation Center at Ceders Sinai Medical Center. Melissa and Linda are joined by Co-Founder/CTO Sunny Walia, an enterprise platform specialist who previously served as VP of Engineering & Operations at Demand Media and CTO at Spin Media.
