I’m Transitioning from Start-Ups into Venture. Here are 3 Reasons Why
This spring Cross Culture Ventures teamed up with Silicon Valley Bank to create and launch the venture apprentice program as an answer to the diversity problem in venture capital. Specifically, we wanted to address the abysmal representation of Black/ Latina women in the industry. The program is a paid summer internship for MBA students with a laser focus on learning and entering the venture capital industry. The candidates spend their summer working at Cross Culture Ventures as a summer associate. The vision is to teach the fundamentals of the business and help them to build a robust network in tech and venture. Jennifer Richard was the first VC apprentice. She has since been promoted and will continue to work with Cross Culture beyond the program. Jennifer shares her experience with the program and her start in VC in this guest post. Big thanks to Claire Lee for championing this initiative, we are forever grateful.
