Defense tech is going transatlantic.
Aeon is teaming up with Dutch defense technology company Destinus to develop a layered interceptor architecture for the U.S. market — combining Destinus’ battle-tested Hornet interceptor with Aeon’s vertically integrated missile technology.
The partnership will also bring manufacturing stateside, with Aeon planning to produce Destinus’ Hornet Block 2 at its new 145,000-square-foot Texas facility.
The resulting Adaptive Scalable Tactical Response Architecture (ASTRA) has been selected as one of 10 finalists in the U.S. Army’s xTech|Apex Intercept competition, which is focused on developing low-cost interceptor solutions for a range of aerial and missile threats.
This is a compelling example of what can happen when proven European defense technology meets U.S. manufacturing and systems integration, creating a path to scale critical capabilities for the American market.
